This session will focus on how to implement an effective Google Classroom. Participants will learn the basic how-to of creating a classroom, making announcements, and creating/grading assignments via Google Classroom. This hands-on session will show participants how meaningful feedback and discussion topics can occur through the engagement of all learners. 

The objective of this session is to learn how to create an engaging, effective Google Classroom with 21st Century learners. Participants will be engaged in the session by actively participating in a Google Classroom by submitting discussion threads and collaborating with other participants in the virtual Google Classroom. Participants will also have the opportunity to create a Google Classroom and experiment with uploading discussion topics, announcements, and assignments that are relevant to their school or discipline area. The session will begin with an overview of the Google Classroom app and specific examples of how this app can be integrated into any classroom setting. Participants will learn how the use of Google Classroom correlates to each TESS domain. Next, participants will interact within a practice class setting on Google Classroom. Participants will then be able to setup a class to use with current students. Participants will also walk away with the knowledge that faculty book studies can be done through Google Classroom. The use of Google Classroom to foster a professional learning community and create a meaningfully, engaged student-centered classroom will be the target of this session.
