Short Session Description (one line): Sharing of action research findings in subject area Mathematics conducted in a co-educational school in Karachi, Pakistan.
Full Session Description:
In the session I would like to share my action research findings which I conducted as a MEd student with Grade 7 secondary school Students. I am currently a student of MEd and I have 3 years experience of teaching Physics, Mathematics and Computers at Grade 7, 10, 11 and 12.
I taught 27 numbers of students as my action research participants in private co-educational school in urban area of Karachi. Problem solving skill was taught to them to enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts and to improve their learning practices. I observed during my teaching after familiarizing with problem solving skills students was able to solve more difficult questions by their own.
Students were less dependent on teachers and used their skills to solve word problems in other subjects such as science. My investigation reveals several factors which hinders students learning in mathematics classroom. Mathematics is referred as most difficult subjects by students in school so I select this topic to investigate the reason behind it.abstract%20of%20action%20research%20for%20Rozina.docx
