Full Session Description (as long as you would like):

The professional formative development of teachers is often cited as the most important outcome of a teacher evaluation process.  Yet, research demonstrates that professional development is often lacking or misguided.  This session outlines research based problematic practices to avoid and recommends practice that administrators can use to positively enhance teacher response and performance through the evaluation process with the ultimate goal of improving student performance.  Based on information from current literature, research, as well as the presenter's experience,  implications for policy and practice will also be discussed.
